King County GOP will they ever learn
Its been awhile but I have said a lot about the king county GOP leadership
in the past.Guess what? There back!!.Just when I thought they couldn't sink any
lower.Well they have.As some of you may know Brian Thomas was nominated
at the king county GOP convention for the 2nd district county council position.
In typical king county GOP leadership fashion they have chosen to ignore Brian.
executive board member terry Thomas told Brian that the party would pay
his filing fee.So Brian then spoke with the chairman Michael young about
get the fee paid. Now Michael says I never said we would pay your filing fee.
Of course terry Thomas denied ever saying they would pay it.Not only would
they not pay it if you look at the list of candidates on king county gop's website
they have refused to even put brian's name down as someone running for
the 2nd district council position. In fact there is nothing at all.
These people are really something Michael young talks about having a
big tent but in reality its a very small one.they are also giving Steve Hammond
the brush off. Now that favorite son Reagan Dunn decided to stay in the
race.Steve Hammond is an honorable man he deserves this party leadership respect.
but sadly I don't think he will ever get it anymore than Brian Thomas will.
Why?Because there both conservatives. With this kind of reckless attitude
they will continue to drive people away and lose elections.I wonder will
they ever learn.
Next week( yes there will a column every week from now on)
They story of Susan Hutchison the one candidate who
can unite the state gop.The only one who can defeat cantwell.

Brian Thomas was the only candidate
in the 2nd district. So yeah he got
more than enough of the vote.
As to the hammond-dunn situation
reagan dunn made gentlemans
agreement if he lost he would
withdraw from the race.
There was never any discussion
about if he got a certain amount
that he would stay in the race.
At this point I would say steve has
little more of the support than
reagan dunn.Plus he has the support
of alot of democrats on the south
side.

Since I'm going to meet with
susan this week will see where
she actually stands on all off
this.
In regards to reagan dunn I
just have a problem with someone
who makes promises and the
summarily breaks them.Also
you should steve hammond has
called for dean logan to resign
as well.
It doesn't have anything to do with Brian Thomas being conservative. It has to do with the Chris Vance & Company culture that permeates our party leadership. They may denounce Thomas and Steve Hammond as too conservatice, and Susan Hutchison as too moderate. When the reality is that the party leadership is just too pathetic.
Josef,
Thank for your response. Be
assured that I will ask susan
about felon suffrage.But lets
give susan a little more time
before passing judgement on her
ok.If you I know you will like
what you hear.
Now as to hammond-dunn situation.
I will conceed that reagan did do
that.Its always bothered me though
that he waited unitl a week before
the caucuses to do it.
I think reagan did so because he wanted
the attention of the media it worked because he got it.
I believe it was nothing
more than grandstanding on his
part.Reagan could have done this
more than a month prior to when
he did.It was a very calculated
move on his part.
The problem with Brian Thomas is simply that he is a certifiable madman who has a habit of harrassing people and picking fights within the party. The Seattle Police Department has a HUGE file on Brian.
It has nothing to do with his politics. It has everything to do with his brain chemistry.
